School Connection™ by Appazur and Microsoft Teams School Connection are both designed to enhance communication and engagement between schools, parents, and students, but they have different features and focuses.

School Connection™ by Appazur

School Connection™ by Appazur was first published in 2020. While most customers choose Appazur’s customized and branded school mobile apps, School Connection™ by Appazur is available to school districts who choose a generic parent communication app. Like the branded apps, School Connection™ by Appazur is a mobile app for easy access to school information and communication. It integrates with existing school management systems to streamline operations, as well as Microsoft Education or Google Workspace for Education staff and student accounts.

Microsoft Teams School Connection

Microsoft Teams School Connection was an app that focused on keeping parents and guardians informed about their child’s academic progress, assignments, and grades. The app was first announced in 2023.

“Note: The School Connection App which allows parents and guardians to monitor their students’ learning at school is being sunset and will no longer be available after 30th April, 2025. This change will not impact the existing functionality of the Weekly guardian email digest that allows institutes to send assignment summaries to parents/guardians or the Parents App that allows educators to communicate with parents/guardians.” Source

  • Insights and Trends: Provides insights into a student’s digital activity, reading progress, and assignment turn-ins.
  • Integration with Teams: Seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Teams, providing a familiar platform for educators and parents.

In summary, while both platforms aim to improve school communication and engagement, School Connection™ by Appazur offers more features for school-wide communication, whereas Microsoft Teams School Connection focuses on academic progress and parental engagement through the Teams platform.
